Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made solid waste management part of its strategic vision. Waste production is similar to that in most European countries but the elaboration of strategies and policies has only recently started up.
SIRC (the Saudi Investment Fund for Recycling), the Royal Commissions, the Saudi Waste Management agency (MWAN) and the central government have embarked on a program of plans investments to improve waste management in the entire country.
In 2018 a short survey report was issued, covering the most important opportunities in this field. And in 2021 seven Dutch companies in the field of Waste Management agreed on a partnership for offering their services on the Saudi market. The partnership is called the Partners for International Business (PIB) NL Smart Waste Solutions.
The survey report was used in the preparation of a Dutch trade mission in May 2022. The mission booklet presents the Dutch PIB companies and their products and services.
