Training and masterplanning for Myanmar states
BreAd was contracted in 2018 by UNDP to perform a 3 staged approach for developing waste management in Mon State. In 2019 this was followed by a similar project in Rakhine State.
The programme in both states started with a situation analysis. We mapped the existing infrastructure and services on waste management,along with all legal, organisational, financial and social aspects. Based on this a training programme was developed and executed. In total 150 representatives joined this multi-day training and it resulted in a shared level of knowledge and insights on the way forward. Then, the last stage could start, comprising an intensive two-week project on masterplanning. With a team of some 10 representatives we were able to draw up the masterplans with a time horizon until 2030
